Work meeting of GS1 Bulgaria with GS1 Global Office


On 15th – 16th July, GS1 Global Office representatives - Audrey Kremer, Senior Manager, Industry Engagement Strategic Initiatives, T&L and Customs and Henri Barthel, Vice President GS1 System Integrity and Global Partnerships paid a working visit to GS1 Bulgaria. Similar visits are taking place in other countries as well, among which Serbia, Albania, Macedonia, Romania, Bosnia and Greece. During the work meetings with the team of the GS1 Bulgaria Council with BCCI, a number of issues related to the organization’s activity in Bulgaria and the application of the GS1 standards in the country were discussed. Some of the topics included strategic partnerships, diversity and quality of the provided services, progress in the implementation of the GS1 standards.

 

The GS1 Global Office representatives expressed readiness to provide expert support on various projects and assistance for achieving the organization’s strategic goals in the country. An important topic highlighted during the talks was the need for closer cooperation with companies developing information systems and placing the GS1 standards in the center of various solutions. Healthcare, retail trade, transport and logistics are key sectors.

 

The International Organization GS1 is going to focus its efforts on the region as part of a project, creating conditions for exchange of good practices and experience in the application of the GS1 standards in various sectors of economy, and organizing thematic meetings of target groups
