

“We are ready to restore active business relations and partnership between Bulgarian and Cubаn companies”, said the President of BCCI Tsvetan Simeonov during a meeting in Havana with Orlando Hernandez Guillen, Chairman of the Cuban Chamber. To meet the new economic realities and new opportunities presented by the ongoing process of opening up the Cuban economy, the two chambers signed a Cooperation Agreement on 20 May. Interest in partnership in the food industry, construction, including renovation and completion of the water supply system, and increasing the tourist flow was confirmed. A visit of Bulgarian companies to Cuba is being prepared.
During their trip to Cuba, the President of BCCI and Chairman of GS1 Bulgaria Tsvetan Simeonov, and the Executive Secretary of GS1 Bulgaria Tsveta Bratanova also met with representatives of GS1 Cuba to share experience in introducing the GS1 international standards in universities.
The meetings were held with the cooperation and participation of the Bulgarian Ambassador H.E. Svetlana Stefanova and the Head of the Trade and Economic Section of Bulgaria in Cuba Martin Dotchev.
