BCCI’s standpoint on the suggested revision of the state budget

BCCI’s President, Mr. Tsvetan Simeonov highlighted at the deliberations of the Ministry of Finance, held on 18th July 2013, in reference to the suggested revision of the state budget, that the redistributive role of the state should not be increased. He also insisted on non-increasing the debt, neither the taxes.

Mr. Tsvetan Simeonov, on behalf of the members of the Chamber, expressed his approval regarding the start of the repayments of the State liabilities to the businesses along with the suggested measures for improving the collection of the revenues.

The meeting has been conducted between the Minister of Finance, Mr. Peter Chobanov and the Public Council with representatives of the nationally representative employers’ organizations and trade unions. The foreseen ceiling of the newly issued debt of BGN 1 billion is a budget option and we will not necessarily avail of it, the Minister specified. The measures taken by the MoF to improve revenue collection and ease the administrative pressure on the businesses are already in progress. In a comment on the State liabilities to companies Minister Chobanov said that in the period 1 - 12 July the NRA refunded BGN 455 million VAT to businesses of which BGN 60 million to 1 215 SMEs.
