H.E. Bea ten Tusscher, Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Sofia, got to know the activities of BCCI

H.Е. Bea ten Tusscher, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Sofia, visited BCCI and met with President Tsvetan Simeonov. He presented the Chamber's activities and explained that the Trade register with more than 53 000 companies and business organizations was digitized thanks to a Dutch partnership project more than 25 years ago. He also presented the Chamber's experience in commercial arbitration, the ranking of BCCI TOP 100 as well as the regional network of chambers of commerce and industry.

Ambassador Tusscher confirmed her readiness to help deepen the trade and economic ties between companies from the Netherlands and Bulgaria and said she would work to attract Dutch investors to our country. For the period 1996-2017, the Netherlands foreign direct investment in Bulgaria amounted to EUR 8.1 billion, with which the country ranks first place in FDI in Bulgaria.

Tsvetan Simeonov emphasized that the BCCI continues to push for greater legal certainty for the business – Bulgarian and foreign, and the introduction of e-government.

In the course of the discussion, the role of Bulgaria in the process of integration of the Balkan countries into the EU, as well as the contacts of the country and BCCI in particular with the initiatives Central and Eastern Europe - China  /16 + 1/, One Belt - One Way etc., were considered.

Future joint initiatives were also discussed.
