The Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry starts a new project funded by European Commission JUST Programme.
The project e-MEDIATION: promoting ICT tools to cross-border disputes resolution obtains the following objectives:
- To contribute to Directive 2008/52/EC coherent and effective application;
- To provide a feasible and secure IT tool for online mediation in cross-border disputes;
- To promote “mediation culture” throughout the Bulgarian society.
To address these objectives the e-MEDIATION ambition is to provide a sophisticated technical solution for e-mediation adhering to the requirements for effective mediation procedure, set in Directive 2008/52/EC. The platform will reproduce online the existing BCCI’s Mediation Centre and provide a secure electronic environment where the parties will be able to choose from the list of BCCI’s mediators and continue with the mediation procedure itself on the platform. The e-Mediation solution will strictly follow the Directive 2008/52/EC prerequisites as well as relevant EU legal acts.
Project Partners are Law and Internet Foundation /leader/, Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and DEXTRO RESEARCH LTD.
Project duration is 16 months, starting date: August 1, 2017.
The e-MEDIATION concept is a result of efforts of the project team, building on the findings of EU funded project such as “www.mediationmeetsjudges.eu\”, “gotomediation.eu” project and “EIRENE” project.
