Presenting the results of project “Development of entrepreneurship among small and medium-sized business in the underdeveloped municipalities in South Eastern Serbia”


BCCI took part in a meeting presenting the results of project “Development of entrepreneurship among small and medium-sized business in the underdeveloped municipalities in South Eastern Serbia”. The project is funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria and aims at stimulating private enterprise in order to support the economic development of the most underdeveloped municipalities in South Eastern Serbia - near Nis, Pirot, Jablanica and Pčinja.

In the presence of Bulgarian Minister of Foreign Affairs Daniel Mitov, diplomats from the two countries, and representatives of Bulgarian business organizations, the Chairman of Union of Employers of Serbia presented the results of the project.

A thorough field study of the state and needs of small business has been conducted in 13 municipalities in South Eastern Serbia whose economic development is below the average for the country. The condition of the local business climate in specific municipalities has been researched. A website of the project has been developed www.tvojbiznistrebaevropi.rs. An analysis entitled “Problems in the development of small business in South Eastern Serbia” has been carried out and published.

BCCI is a partner of the Union of Employers of Serbia in another EU project “Corporate Responsibility for All” and supports any activities which may help SMEs, especially in the border regions which need attention and specific help and assistance.
