The nationally representative employers’ organizations are in favor of maintaining the current tax system in Bulgaria

With regard to the frequent political statements made recently about a change of the income policy in Bulgaria, connected with a change of the tax system, the representative at the national level employers’ organizations BICA, BIA, BCCI and CEIBG, united in the Association of the Organizations of Bulgarian Employers (AOBE), expressed support in principle for maintaining the current tax system of the Republic of Bulgaria, which is designed to provide predictable conditions for doing business in the country.

At the same time, the Association of the Organizations of Bulgarian Employers has repeatedly expressed the position to reduce the overall tax burden for businesses and citizens in support of economic growth and jobs, but only after an in-depth and responsible public and expert debate. In this regard, any radical change in the system would jeopardize and call into question the stability and predictability of the business environment and would send unfavorable signals to businesses and investors.

AOBE strongly supports the current model, which has existed since 2008, and for 12 years has proven its success in terms of attracting foreign investors in our country.

The nationally representative employers’ organizations, whose members provide employment to 82% of all workers and employees and create 86% of GVA in Bulgaria, strongly insist on maintaining the current tax system as a condition for stability not only in the business environment, but also in view of preserving economic and social stability in Bulgaria.
