The President of the BCCI Tsvetan Simeonov had a working meeting with H.E. Ms. Donika Hoxha, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Albania to Bulgaria. In the course of discussion it became clear that the bilateral trade was not significantly affected in 2020, despite the global crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. For the first nine months of last year, there was even an increase in trade turnover of 10.6%, amounting to EUR 87.7 million, with the trade balance being positive for Bulgaria. An increase in both exports and imports was registered.
Ambassador Hoxha pointed out that more decisive action is needed to support bilateral trade. Tsvetan Simeonov acquainted the Ambassador with the priorities and the programme of the Association of Balkan Chambers /ABC/ for 2021, whose rotating chairmanship this year is held by BCCI.
It was agreed to organize a virtual meeting with partners from Albania – the Union of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Albania, the Albanian Investment Development Agency and other stakeholders to exchange ideas and contacts for the promotion and development of bilateral economic relations.
