H. E. Ms Annick Van Kalstar, Ambassador of Belgium to Bulgaria, and representatives of the Belgian companies Frisomat и A-Law, involved in a business mission in the country, visited BCCI and met the President of the Chamber Tsvetan Simeonov. 15 companies from different sectors interested in establishing contacts with Bulgarian partners are included in the mission.
Tsvetan Simeonov presented briefly the activities of BCCI and highlighted the support that the organization provides to the business at different stages of development. Ben Payne, Manager of Frisomat, shared the positive experience of the company in Bulgaria and presented a new draft on the ring road of Sofia.
Patricia Leers, Managing Partner of A-Law positioned in Antwerp, said that her company has strong interests in Bulgaria and she is hoping to develop successful collaboration – her company has already opened an office in Sofia.
The experience of BCCI in the areas of commercial arbitration and mediation was discussed. The President of the Chamber noted that the Arbitration Court at BCCI is a reliable guarantee for the fastest resolving of disputes between contract parties.
The main problems which BCCI is fighting on behalf of the companies are bureaucracy and corruption, unpredictability in the legal system and the lack of funding sources.
