The Philippines grant trade and investments preferences to European companies

Valerio Mazzone, representative of the EU – Philippines Business Network met with the President of BCCI Tsvetan Simeonov.

The Network was set up in 2014 and includes 8 European chambers of commerce with the key objective to provide the necessary support for European SMEs willing to increase exports and investment to the Philippines or to establish relations with local partners.

The Republic of the Philippines grants a lot of preferences to European companies. With mutual trade amounting to EUR 72 million, Bulgaria ranks 16th among the EU member-states according to trade volume with the Philippines.

The President of BCCI said that there is great potential for expansion of the trade and economic relations between the two countries, both in terms of trade and establishing joint companies, outsourcing of production or activities to subcontractors, etc.

Cooperation between the BCCI and the EU – Philippines Business Network was negotiated. A specialised event is expected to take place in Sofia in early autumn to promote economic cooperation between the two countries.
