Business Council Bulgaria – Pakistan will promote business contacts between the two countries

H.E. Babar Hashmi, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in Sofia, visited BCCI and talked with the Chamber’s President Tsvetan Simeonov. The aim of the visit was to discuss opportunities for development of the bilateral trade and economic relations.

During the meeting, the priorities and challenges for 2019 were discussed. Ambassador Hashmi informed about the forthcoming session of the Intergovernmental Joint Committee, which will be held in the first quarter of the year in Karachi, Pakistan. A bilateral business forum is planned to also be held during the session of the Committee, about which BCCI will additionally inform.

The establishment of a joint Business Council Bulgaria – Pakistan with the assistance of BCCI and the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry was also discussed. The intention is for the Council to be set up immediately before the session of the Intergovernmental Joint Committee and to be finalised during it.
