On the International Civil Aviation Day, BCCI took part in the presentation of the direct air connection Baku – Sofia, organized by the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Sofia and the Azerbaijan airlines “Buta Airways”.
The event was officially opened by H.E. Ms. Nargiz Gurbanova, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Sofia, who emphasized the key importance of the transport sector for the development of the relations between Bulgaria and Azerbaijan – not only at the political, but also at the economic level. Irena Georgieva, Deputy Minister of Tourism, presented the benefits of direct air connections for the development of tourism potential.
Vasil Todorov, Secretary General of BCCI, addressed the participants in the event and said that from the point of view of the business, the initiatives and efforts of both countries were successful, as the direct flights will lead to the intensification of the cooperation with Azerbaijan in the sectors of mutual interest.
Representatives of the public institutions, the business and the media had the opportunity to learn more about the direct flights Baku – Sofia – Baku which will be launched on 16 January 2018.
