


The President of the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Tsvetan Simeonov discussed with Mr. Abruzzini the joined events planned in June in the Bulgarian capital – European Parliament of Enterprises and Eurochambres` Board of Directors 11-12 June 2018.
They had a lively discussion on the priorities of the Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of EU and the role of Chambers.
During the meeting with the Minister of Economy Emil Karanikolov the topics related to increasing competitiveness of the Bulgarian economy were raised, including: administrative reforms, decrease of bureaucracy, development of industrial zones, national and regional infrastructure, market innovations, prioritizing some sectors of the Bulgarian economy which need investors, solving problems with the labour market – coordinating the needs of businesses for skilled employees with specific qualifications, as well as constant contact with the academia aiming at education and demand of the skills and capacity required by companies, etc.
At the National Assembly of the Republic of Bulgaria Mr. Abruzzini and Mr. Simeonov had a meeting with the Chairperson of the Committee on economic policy and tourism, Petar Kanev and the Chairperson of the Committee on budget and finance, Menda Stoyanova.
They both expressed their gratitude from the collaboration with the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry in regard to the changes in Bulgarian legislation related to the improvement of economic environment.
Mr. Kanev and Ms. Stoyanova confirmed their participation in the EPE in Sofia.
At the meeting with the Minister of the EU Presidency Lilyana Pavlova the following questions were discussed: the challenges for businesses and entrepreneurs as well as adequate measures that will help the country to manage with the changing requirements of the labour market on national and EU level.
The initiative European Parliament of Enterprises was supported by all representatives of the Government that took part in the meetings. The event is a part of the official programme of the Bulgarian presidency of the Council of EU and is expected to gather representatives of more than 30 European Chambers, European and Bulgarian entrepreneurs, Regional Chambers of Commerce, Sector Organizations, the leaders of the Association of the Bulgarian employers’ organizations, Members of the Bulgarian Parliament, Members of the EU Parliament, European institutions, diplomats etc.
The event will be part of the marking of the 60th anniversary of EUROCHAMBRES together with the introduction of the European Pillar of Entrepreneurial Rights.
