Bulgaria's job vacancy rate of 0.8% lowest in EU in Q3 of 2022


The job vacancy rate (JVR) in the third quarter of 2022 stood at 2.9% in the EU and at 0.8% in Bulgaria, making it the Member State with the lowest JVR, show job vacancy statistics released by Eurostat. Compared to the second quarter, the JVR decreased by 0.1% in both the EU and Bulgaria.

In the third quarter of 2021, Bulgaria's JVR again stood at 0.8%, while the EU's was 2.4%.

In July-September 2022, the highest JVR was registered in Austria (5%), Belgium and the Netherlands (4.9% each), while the lowest was observed in Bulgaria (0.8%), Spain and Romania (0.9% each).

A job vacancy is defined as a paid post that is newly created, unoccupied, or about to become vacant. The JVR measures the proportion of total posts that are vacant expressed as a percentage.
