Unemployment in Bulgaria fell from 3.6% in October 2025 to 3.5% in November 2025, according to seasonally adjusted data from Eurostat. November unemployment in Bulgaria was the third lowest in the EU. The lowest rates were recorded in Malta (3.1%) and Czechia and Poland (both 3.2%).
According to Eurostat, the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate in the eurozone was 6.3% in November 2025, down from 6.4% in October 2025 but up from 6.2 % in November 2024. In the European Union, the unemployment rate remained at 6.0% in November, unchanged from the previous month but above the 5.8% rate recorded in November 2024.
Eurostat estimates that there were 13.225 million unemployed people in the EU in November 2025, of whom 10.937 million were in the euro area.
Compared with October 2025, the number of unemployed people fell by 97,000 in the EU and by 71,000 in the euro area. However, on an annual basis, unemployment rose by 416,000 in the EU and by 253,000 in the eurozone.
Youth unemployment
Bulgaria also reported an improvement in youth unemployment, falling from 13.2% in October 2025 to 12.6% in November 2025.
In November, 2.923 million young people under the age of 25 were unemployed in the EU, of whom 2.318 million were in the eurozone. The youth unemployment rate was 15.1% in the EU, compared with 15.2% in October and 14.6% in the eurozone, compared with 14.8% the previous month.
Compared with October 2025, youth unemployment fell by 44,000 in the EU and by 42,000 in the eurozone. On an annual basis, however, it increased by 24,000 in the EU and by 11,000 in the eurozone.
