Bulgaria’s economy expanded by 1.5% year on year in the third quarter of 2014, official figures showed on 3 December.
Gross Domestic Product (GDP) grew by 0.4% compared with the second quarter of 2014, according to preliminary seasonally adjusted data.
The National Statistical Institute (NSI) said in a statement GDP totalled BGN 22.8 B (EUR 11.7 B) at current prices in the third quarter of 2014. GDP per capita was BGN 3,161 (EUR 1,616).
As compared with the third quarter of 2013 the agricultural sector increases its share of 8.2% in the gross value added of the economy with 0.2 percentage points. The share of industrial sector reaches 27.9 %, up by 0.2 percentage points. The share of services is 63.9% which is a decrease of 0.4 percentage points compared to the same period of the previous year.
In the third quarter of 2014 spending on final consumption formed 69.1% of GDP, while investments contributed 20.7% of GDP.
Imports of goods and services increased by 2.6% year on year in the third quarter of 2014, while exports dropped by 2.8%.
