1. Producer Price Indices on Domestic Market
Producer Price Index on Domestic Market in March 2014 fell by 0.2% compared to the previous month, according to the latest data provided by the National Statistical Institute (NSI). The domestic prices declined in the mining and quarrying industry by 2.2% and in the manufacturing by 0.2%, while in the electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply the prices rose by 0.2%.
In the manufacturing, compared to the previous month the prices went down in the manufacture of basic metals by 4.3% and in the repair and installation of machinery and equipment by 0.5%, while a price increase was reported in the manufacture of chemicals and chemical products by 1.9% and in the manufacture of motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers by 1.0%.
Producer Price Index on Domestic Market in March 2014 decreased by 1.6% compared to the same month of 2013. The domestic prices fell in the mining and quarrying industry by 10.8%, in the manufacturing by 1.1% and in the electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply by 1.3%.
In the manufacturing compared to March 2013, a price decrease was registered in the manufacture of basic metals by 9.3%, in the manufacture of food products by 5.1% and in the manufacture of chemicals and chemical products by 4.7%. The prices increases were seen in the manufacture of tobacco products by 7.5%, in the manufacture of leather and related products by 5.4% and in the manufacture of motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers by 5.3%.
2. Total Producer Price Indices in Industry
Total Producer Price Index in Industry in March 2014 decreased by 0.3% compared to the previous month. Lower prices were registered in the mining and quarrying industry by 2.5%, and in the manufacturing by 0.4%, while in the electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply the prices went up by 0.1%.
In the manufacturing, more significant prices decreases were seen in the manufacture of basic metals by 2.5%, in the manufacture of food products, and in the repair and installation of machinery and equipment by 0.5%.
Total Producer Price Index in March 2014 decreased by 2.8% comparing to the same month of 2013.
In the manufacturing, the prices fell by 2.4% as compared to March 2013. More significant price decreases were seen in the manufacture of basic metals by 13.4%, in the manufacture of food products by 4.8% and in the manufacture of chemicals and chemical products by 2.0%, while the producer prices rose in the manufacture of tobacco products by 4.8%, in the manufacture of furniture by 2.0% and in the manufacture of wearing apparel by 1.9%.
