Bulgaria’s unemployment rate at 10.5% in September


Bulgaria’s unemployment rate stood at 10.5% in September, according to the Employment Agency. In September 2014, the unemployment rate went up by one tenth of a percent on the month, but decreased by 0.3% on the year.

In absolute terms, over 345 000 people were registered as unemployed. Registered young people aging up to 29 years were 59 351 representing 17.2% of all unemployed. Compared to August their number increased by 2300 persons, but decreased significantly on an annual basis - by 11 979 persons.

According to the Employment Agency, there is a lasting upward trend in the number of unemployed people who started jobs in the real economy.
