"Bulgartransgaz" EAD entered into operation the extension of the transit pipeline to Turkey (looping) on 3 August. The construction of the twenty-kilometer gas pipeline from compressor station Lozenetz to Nedyalsko is implemented in order to increase the security and capacity of the existing gas transmission network of Bulgartransgaz. The activities are part of the project for rehabilitation, modernization and extension of the existing gas transmission system, designated for a project of common interest by the European Commission.
“Now we have constructed a pipeline that will allow for reversible flows, so we can get gas from Turkey, from Azerbaijan and Russia,” Prime Minister Boyko Borissov said at the official ceremony, which was also attended by Turkish Energy Minister Fatih Donmez.
