Schengen, the economy, migration policy and Еnergy Union will be priorities of Bulgaria in the EU in 2015

At meetings of the Councils of the European Union, Bulgaria will prioritize the promotion of economic growth and employment, accession to the Schengen area, solidarity management of migration, the creation of a European Energy Union, the European Digital Single Market, and the enlargement of the European Union. This is set out in the Annual Program for the Participation of Bulgaria in the Decision-Making Process in the European Union (2015), adopted today by the Council for European Affairs. The Program aims to provide a basis for preparing Bulgaria’s positions in discussing issues on the 2015 EU agenda, which are a priority of the country. Therefore, the document is consistent with the 2015 Work Program of the European Commission and the priorities of the current presidency trio of the Council of the EU, made up of Italy, Latvia and Luxemburg.

The adoption of the strategic document supports carrying out a coordinated and coherent policy on participation in the decision-making process within the EU, which represents Bulgaria as a reliable partner in the European family.
