The government creates five thematic working groups to carry out preparations for the Bulgarian presidency of the Council of the European Union


The Government has created five thematic working groups to implement and report on measures for the preparation of the Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of the European Union in the second half of 2018.

The five thematic working groups are:

  • Priorities and Presidency Program
  • Administrative Capacity
  • Infrastructure, Logistics and Security
  • Communication Strategy and Cultural Program
  • Financing and Public Procurement.

The groups will be led by different deputy prime ministers and ministers who will be responsible for the implementation of measures, included in the in the Preparation for the Bulgarian Presidency Plan, that fall within their competence.

The goal is to guarantee adequate organization and human resource that correspond to the stages of preparation and conduct of the Presidency, which is associated with utmost commitment of responsible ministries and institutions to all aspects of the preparatory process and the full use of the available capacity.
