”The Bulgarian priorities were presented in a very convincing and clear way. We are grateful for the support we received from all political parties in the European Parliament and for the recognition of the President of the European Commission Jean-Claude Juncker that they are clear and well selected.“  This is what Minister for the Bulgarian Presidency of the EU Council 2018 Lilyana Pavlova said in Strasburg after the presentation of the priorities of the Bulgarian Presidency before the European Parliament by Prime Minister Boyko Borissov.

Minister Lilyana Pavlova stressed that the country managed to bring back the topic of the Western Balkans on the common European agenda and to focus the attention of the institutions on the debate on the future of Europe, the Digital Agenda and the security and stability of the continent.

During the plenary on 16 January, the country received a clear support in its fight against corruption, the Minister for the Bulgarian Presidency said answering a question. “Bulgaria has the will to fight corruption, it is on the right track regarding the measures and the legislation; what is worked on bears results that are visible in the economic indicators – growth of the economy, decreasing unemployment and increasing investment,“ she added.
