The Black Sea region can be considered a complex but hugely important area for hydrocarbon development in Europe. Recent offshore exploratory drilling activities are promising, and there are currently important stakeholders in the region including OMV, Total, Repsol and ExxonMobil. Gas and oil pipelines decisions are still in discussion, as are the issues in relation to the Bosphorus Strait. In energy terms, the region is a bridge between the Caspian region and Europe, as well as the Middle East and the East Mediterranean. Energy security, exploration and production, energy transportation, even geopolitics are challenges, but with these upstream and midstream challenges come opportunities.
The forum brings together government officials, IOCs, NOCs, operators, EPC specialists, local contractors and regional experts that will enable you to explore the key areas which will require further commitment and investment and an understanding the significant geopolitics between the major players in the Black Sea region. It will cover developments from the littoral states, including those in Russia, Ukraine, Georgia, Bulgaria, Romania and Turkey, together with surrounding countries influencing the region.
To put this in context, the Black Sea Oil and Gas Forum has been organised from the 6-7 March 2013 in Sofia, Bulgaria and will enable attendees to explore the full lifecycle of exploration and production development and predictions from the region about how these pipeline projects are developing, and how they are interdependent on each other.
