A new investment by Swiss company Reichle & De-Massari worth BGN 2 million will create 50 new jobs near Sofia, attorney Dimitar Vladikov told Standart.
The Swiss will expand their plant for fiber optic products and platforms, which is located in the metropolitan district Hadji Dimitar.
The company applied for a Class A investment certificate which has already been lodged at the Bulgarian Investment Agency, Vladikov informed.
Reichle & De-Massari Bulgaria Production officially entered the Bulgarian market in 2012, when they announced an investment of nearly BGN 10 million, not inlcuding the cost of purchasing the building (about 8 million sq.m) which became their plant.
The company employs about 150 Bulgarians - after expansion of the production base, the number will rise to about 200 people.
The fact that the company has expanded just two years after entering Bulgaria may be regarded as a good sign for the investment environment in the country, especially with the lowest labour costs in the EU.
