The new plant of the Swiss company "Reichle & De-Massari" for design, manufacture and assembly of fiber optic components and platforms in Sofia was officially opened on 2 October.
The plant was officially launched by the Bulgarian President Mr. Rosen Plevneliev. The Ambassador of Switzerland Mrs. Regina Escher, Executive Director of the Bulgarian Investment Agency Borislav Stefanov and representatives of the Swiss investor attended the event.
The total investment in the high-tech enterprise for optic and copper components amounted to BGN 9.7 million. The sum does not include the price of the building of about BGN 8 million.
The new plant will be located in the residential district Hadji Dimitar in Sofia. By the end of 2012, 100 new jobs will be created. The output of the new plant will be exported worldwide.
Swiss “Reichle & De-Massari” AG, which will finance the entire investment with its own resources, is one of the 500 largest companies in Switzerland. Currently, it has its own trade representations in over 30 countries, grouped in seven trading regions.
In March 2008 “R & M” announced the acquisition of 100% of the Bulgarian distributor of copper and fiber optic cables and cabling components FriNet LTD.
