The German company “Mecalit”, a supplier of injection moulded technical precision parts and functional components for electrical appliances, has started production in Bulgaria. With an investment amounting to around 7.5 million euro a new production plant was opened in Kuklen, Plovdiv, in September 2012. 5 700 square meters of manufacturing and administrative facilities are located on the total area of 22 500 square meters.
The main reason behind the company’s decision to direct its investments towards Bulgaria is our country’s strategic position on the European map. Many of the clients of ”Mecalit”,attracted by the emerging markets and the lower production costs, are now increasingly exporting their production to the East. Bulgaria provides much easier and faster access to these clients. “We follow or main partners where the production is cheaper. Thus, the big investors are so important, because they are followed by a whole range of small firms”, said the manager of "Mekalit" for Bulgaria, Krasen Krastev.
The German company “Mecalit” is a market leader in the development and production of ultrasonic-welded panels that are used in the production of household appliances. The product range of the company also includes technical plastic components and complex system assemblies, shutters, doors and other components for freezers, refrigerators, dryers and dishwashers.
