Amendments of the Law on Non-Profit Legal Entities, adopted at first reading, envisage special registration with the Trade Registry

Amendments of the Law on Non-Profit Legal Entities, adopted at first reading, envisage special registration with the Trade Registry. The bill is tabled by the Council of Ministers.

Currently the non-profit legal entity is established by its entry in the register of legal non-profit entities at the regional court. There are special requirements for the non-profit organizations carrying out socially useful activity. They are registered in addition at the Central register with the Ministry of Justice.

It is expected that after transferring the registration at the Trade Register the activities of the non-profit legal entities will become more transparent and accountable. The aim is also to ease the administrative burden of the courts.
