Up to BGN 2 million will reach the maximum penalty for a mobile operator who fails to comply with the European regulation setting maximum prices for roaming, according to the introduced amendments to the Law on Electronic Communications.
The changes include specifying sanctions for breaches of regulations ranging from BGN 400 thousand to BGN 2 million. The move comes as the EU is trying to abolish roaming costs altogether in the name of the free market.
