A Meeting with the Motto Business without Borders Outlined New Opportunities for Business Cooperation between Bulgaria and Republic of North Macedonia

Biliana Miteva, President of the Macedonian-Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce, visited BCCI and had a talk with its President Tsvetan Simeonov.

The conversation shared information about forthcoming activities to make the bilateral economic relations more active by the end of this year, as well as views and ideas about a more ambitious 2026 Programme. Ms Miteva noted that over the past couple of years, significant progress has been achieved in the work of the Chamber and currently, the number of its members has grown from a two-digit number to a three-digit one.

On his part, Mr Simeonov gave information on the cooperation, accomplished so far and supported by the Association of the Balkan Chambers (ABC). BCCI committed itself to make the Bulgarian-Macedonian economic relations even more active.

Work will be done in order of priority for Business without Borders and this is also the slogan of the joint Chamber. It was established that the fastest way of doing this is in an electronic environment – namely, in the ICT sector. Even in the conditions of the digital era, it is also important to improve the infrastructural connections between the two countries – in terms of land and railway transport. It was agreed that in the near future, the joint Chamber will sign an Agreement on cooperation with regional Chambers from the BCCI system.

The two Presidents commented on the opportunity for the two joint structures – the Macedonian-Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and the Bulgarian-Macedonian Chamber of Commerce and Industry – to interact and to publish annually the best companies from both countries. The format is going to be further specified.
