Members of the 42nd National Assembly sworn in office


The Members of the 42nd National Assembly have taken solemnly the oath of office and pledged allegiance to the Republic of Bulgaria and to obey the laws of the country and to be led in all their actions by the interests of the people.

After they were sworn in the people’s representatives signed their oath declarations. The anthems of the Republic of Bulgaria and the European Union were played.

The parliamentary member of the Coalition for Bulgaria, Mihail Mikov, has been elected as the Chairman of the 42 nd National Assembly.

Bulgarian President, Rosen Plevneliev, is launching consultations on forming the new government with parliamentary represented parties as early as Thursday, May 23.

Plevneliev addressed the Members of the Parliament and the nation. He stressed that after the conclusion of the consultations, he would not delay even by a minute the handing of the mandate to form a new government.

"Let's find solutions for the crises, not deepen it. Beginning today, we have a working Parliament. I hope it will soon designate a Cabinet to undertake responsibility; a Cabinet of competent people with a clear program. I expect all institutions to work together to solve the problems," Plevneliev stressed.

BCCI’s President Tsvetan Simeonov was invited and attended the first session of the 42 nd National Assembly as a participant in the social dialogue. This is recognition of the Chamber’s role in the tripartite cooperation and its active position in the development of the economy of our country.
