The President of BCCI Tsvetan Simeonov and the Vice-President Georgi Stoev met with Ms. Myonghi Kim, the newly-appointed Director General of KOTRA Sofia (the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency) and Mr. Georgi Iliev, Marketing Research Manager in KOTRA Sofia.
Mrs. Kim said that BCCI was the first Bulgarian institution she visited after her appointment as Director General. The excellent communication between the two organizations was discussed together with the good traditions in the bilateral exchange of economic information preserved over the years.
Companies from the two countries have expressed interest for cooperation in the following sectors:
• Agriculture – production of organic foods
• Cosmetics – rose oil
• Tourism – SPA
• Production of transformers.
The President of BCCI Mr. Simeonov emphasized the importance of the Free Trade Agreement between Korea and the European Union, in force as of July 2011, for achieving even better trade and economic results. BCCI will continue to encourage Bulgarian companies to seek cooperation with partners from South Korea. The Chamber has a long-standing tradition in supporting foreign investors from all sectors of economy.
