The international rating agency Standard & Poor's (S&P Global Ratings) on 26 August affirmed Sofia's long-term credit rating at BBB with a stable outlook, which is equal to that of the country, Sofia town hall reported.
The municipality's rating has been uninterrupted at investment grade level since 2010, which is recognition of the results. The high rating is also one of the prerequisites for the high level of foreign investment in the municipality, the press release said.
The international rating agency noted the strengths of the capital's economy, the planning of municipal finances and prudent financial management.
In a complex political and economic environment, the results of the capital are once again positively assessed, Deputy Mayor Doncho Barbalov said on his Facebook account.
