Discussion on Opportunities to Deepen Bulgaria–Denmark Bilateral Cooperation

Bozhidar Patinov, newly appointed Head of the Bulgarian Commercial and Economic Office in Denmark, visited the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and held a productive meeting with the President – Mr. Tsvetan Simeonov.

Patinov received up-to-date information on the development of the Bulgarian economy and shared his vision for intensifying the bilateral cooperation between Bulgaria and Denmark. He noted that there is currently no other active trade office in the Scandinavian region.

Simeonov discussed with the guest the sectors with a potential for bilateral and multilateral cooperation, including: food industry, textile industry, information and communication technologies, pharmaceutical industry, renewable energy, and others.

They also discussed several best practices from Denmark that could serve as an example for Bulgaria and have a positive impact on the economy and society — strong focus on high value-added industries such as pharmaceuticals, technology, and renewable energy; high standard of living; a well-developed social services system; high circular economy goals; high levels of social security, cooperation, and equality; widespread use of bicycles for urban transport, and more.
