The "Get to Know the Homeland" campaign is popular both in Bulgaria and abroad, said the Deputy Minister of Economy, Energy and Tourism Ivo Marinov, who participated in the presentation of the itinerary guide for the region of Veliko Tarnovo.
The guidebook includes 17 tourist routes in the district, which is among the first areas in the country to join in the national campaign.
The main objective of "Get to Know the Homeland" is the promotion of cultural and historical heritage among Bulgarian students.
All 10 municipalities in the region participate in the guidebook with their own tourist sites and routes. During the ceremony their representatives were provided with special seals and stamps to be affixed in special books when visiting the sites.
Nearly BGN 24 million has been allocated for advertising the Bulgarian tourism this year. BGN 8 million of it comes from the state budget while the remaining BGN 16 million – from the "Regional Development" OP.
