Bulgaria will be divided into nine tourist regions in a renovated national tourist map. Two new names could be seen - The Balkan and the Valley of Roses.
Division of the country on tourist areas is required by the Tourism Act, adopted in spring 2013. Now the experts offer separation of the Danube, Balkan Mountains, the valley of rosesTrakia, Rhodope, Rila, Pirin, Sofia, North Coast and South Coast.
The purpose is to form a regional travel products. It is assumed that the formation of regions will encourage local authorities and companies to join together and to establish joint tourism products and advertising campaigns.
