Amer Sports Bulgaria receives Class A Investment Certificate


Caretaker Innovation and Growth Minister Alexander Pulev presented the 18th Class A Investment Certificate to Amer Sports Bulgaria. The certified investment project is for Amer Sport Bulgaria’s ski production plant in Trakia Economic Zone in Asenovgrad which will create over 100 new jobs in the southern city.

Amer Sports’ new plant is the company’s second in Bulgaria after the one in Chepelare. Production of the main brands like Atomic and Salomon in the new facility is expected to begin in the latter part of the current year, said project head Nikolay Dimitrov. Amer Sports is one of the largest producers of ski equipment in the world.

The Recovery and Resilience Plan is open and is working, Pulev commented after the ceremony, adding that 145 out of the 953 Bulgarian companies approved under the first technological modernization procedure with a BGN 260 million budget are from Plovdiv region and 38 – from Parardjik region. A resource of BGN 1.0 billion will be open for application over the next six months at the Ministry under the Recovery and Resilience Plan and the Competititveness and Innovation, and Research structural programmes. Part of this involves a BGN 200 million total budget procedure that will allow micro- and SMEs to invest in own REW installations, photovoltaic panels and batteries. They will be entitled to grants of BGN 100,000 to BGN 1.0 million per company. The announcement for the three-month procedure, which is expected to open in the beginning of February, has attracted considerable interest, Pulev added.
