H.E. Ms Lina Omar, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq in Sofia, received an Honorary Diploma from the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry due to the expiration of her term of office in Bulgaria.
H.E. Ms Omar was honored for her active cooperation with BCCI, as well as for her contribution to the development of the economic relations between Bulgaria and Iraq. The Diploma was conferred by the President of the Chamber Mr Tsvetan Simeonov.
Ambassador Omar thanked BCCI for the useful partnership during her term of office in Sofia and presented some of the plans for the development of Iraq after the elections held in November this year. She shared that now, it is the time for Bulgarian businesses to get into the Iraqi market and also outlined some of the sectors with the potential for growth: oil and gas extraction, bitumen, construction and renewable energy sources, among others.
Tsvetan Simeonov thanked H.E. Ms Omar for the information provided and shared that BCCI will think over the proposal for a business delegation visit to Iraq.
