BCCI President Mr Tsvetan Simeonov and the Secretary General of the International Organisation of Employers (IOE) Roberto Suarez held a meeting with the Minister of Labour and Social Policy Borislav Gutsanov.
The three of them discussed issues and problems about the development of labour markets and the significance of social dialogue – both at national, and at European and international level – for the development of society. "Thank you for the time spared at this challenging moment. This shows how important the social dialogue is to you. When it is functioning, that helps everyone," Mr Suarez stated.
Tsvetan Simeonov shared information about the cooperation between BCCI and IOE and emphasised the fact that after consultations, held with the International Organisation in 1996, a decision was made on the participation of the Association of Bulgarian Employers' Organisations in the activity of IOE, as well as on drawing up the rules for that participation.
The meeting put emphasis on the activity of the International Labour Organisation, as well as on the need for East European countries, and for Bulgaria in particular, to have a clear voice and position in the Organisation.
Minister Gutsanov was definite that it is important we work to ensure that these organisations move with the times and that they actually help employers and workers.
During the meeting, Roberto Suarez announced that Bulgaria will be host to the Annual Regional Meeting for the IOE members from Europe and Central Asia in 2028.
Roberto Suarez is visiting Sofia on the occasion of the 130th anniversary of BCCI.
