BCCI participates in a work meeting on the Project "TRANSFAIR for just transition and social dialogue in the transport sector"
The Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) participated in an expert working meeting under the project "TRANSFAIR - just transition and social dialogue in the transport sector ", which is being implemented in five European countries: Bulgaria, Italy, Montenegro, Poland, and Spain.
During the meeting, upcoming activities were discussed, including the presentation of the methodology and main stages of the upcoming project study, the conduct of an online survey, approaches to respondent selection, data protection requirements, and the preparation of national reports.
Special attention was given to the guidelines for conducting qualitative research—organization and moderation of focus groups, conducting interviews, selecting participants, and documenting results. Participants also discussed methodological issues related to applying a common approach across all partner countries.
BCCI Launches the National Survey
As part of the project, the BCCI has already launched the national survey, which aims to assess the state of social dialogue in the transport sector and its readiness to address the challenges associated with the green and digital transitions.
Transport is among the sectors most heavily impacted by the transition to a climate-neutral economy. The transformation includes the introduction of electric and zero-emission vehicles, the development of rail and smart public transport, the modernization of logistics infrastructure, and the implementation of digital and automated systems.
These processes directly affect business operations, work organization, and the required skills of employees. Effective social dialogue between employers, workers, trade unions, and public institutions is key to managing these changes and ensuring a just transition where no one is left behind.
The survey is aimed at representatives of:
- trade unions and workers;
- employer organizations and executives/managers in the transport sector;
- public administration, sector experts, and other social partner representatives.
Through the survey, the main needs, challenges, obstacles, and opportunities for more active participation of social partners in developing and implementing strategies for the green and digital transitions in the transport sector will be identified.
The findings will be used to formulate practical recommendations for improving social dialogue and effectively managing transition processes in the sector.
