BCCI presented in Austria the mobile application "BG Barcode"

Within the mentoring program, a team of experts from GS1 Bulgaria, led by the BCCI's President Tsvetan Simeonov, visited GS1 Austria. The meeting took place in the town of Gamlitz, province of Styria. Information was exchanged regarding the activities and best practices of both organisations.

The mobile application "BG Barcode", presented by GS1 Bulgaria, which has been downloaded more than 9000 times for the past 5 months, prompted the interest of their Austrian counterparts, as well as the features of the new information system for the members of GS1 Bulgaria. The system is expected to be launched in mid-October.

From the part of GS1 Austria the team was met by Michael Walter, president of GS1 Austria, and Gregor Herzog, Executive Director. At present, the efforts of the Austrian organisation are aimed at giving the opportunity for providing quality data for the needs of trade and consumers. GS1 Austria has the application GS1 Sync, which allows entering full and accurate data on products and companies, following the requirements of Regulation 1169/2011 of the EU, to serve for providing information to consumers, and in the business relations between retailers and their suppliers.

The information system of GS1 Bulgaria is also based on the opportunity to assist Bulgarian companies in meeting the requirements of the Regulation.
