The "Brandiko" project of the MEE has won the first prize in European Entrepreneurship competition
The "Brandiko" project of Bulgaria’s Ministry of Economy and Energy has won the first prize in the category "Investing in entrepreneurial skills" at the 8th annual edition of the European Enterprise Promotion Awards in Naples. The Bulgarian project is in the sphere of intellectual property protection and competed with nominations from Germany, Great Britain and Serbia. The European prizes are awarded for achievements and stimulate business skills and entrepreneurship through projects for public-private partnership. This year Bulgaria participates in the competition for the fifth time.
"Brandiko" is the MEE’s competition for brand protection, which is held among students of vocational and art schools. The initiative aims to engage the thinking of young people and to arouse their interest in the creation, development and protection of intellectual property, even if only in a training format. During the competition participants are to build their own brand and to register it as a trade mark in the EU, as well as to create a marketing strategy for their brand.
Except for the Bulgarian project, the developments of Lithuania, Spain, Italy, Germany and Portugal were awarded within the six categories of the competition, proposing a wide range of innovative solutions to problems in different areas from pollution to lack of corporate social responsibility.
The Grand Jury Prize went to a Hungarian project aimed at encouraging business start-ups by mothers with young children, which helps them to develop entrepreneurial attitudes and skills.
