The President of BCCI and the Ambassador of Romania discussed the growing trade turnover between the two countries

At BCCI, a meeting was held between the President of the Chamber Mr. Tsvetan Simeonov and H.E. Ion Galea, the newly-appointed Ambassador of Romania in Bulgaria. Mr. Radu Moldovan, Minister-Counsellor at the Embassy of Romania also took part in the meeting.

Ambassador Galea informed the President of BCCI about an upcoming regional business event in Bucharest, aimed at promoting entrepreneurship and presenting the positive advantages of businesses from the region, which will take place in the spring of 2017. The Ambassador also assured him of the openness of his Mission to business initiatives and economic cooperation between the two neighbouring countries.

The President of BCCI Tsvetan Simeonov pointed out the good cooperation between BCCI and the Bulgarian – Romanian chambers, the Bilateral Chamber of Commerce Bulgaria – Romania, and the Bulgarian – Romanian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Another topic of discussion was Mr. Simeonov’s upcoming visit to Bucharest, to take part in the General Assembly of the Association of Balkan Chambers (ABC), which this year is presided by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania. In this regard, issues of multilateral cooperation were discussed, the ideas and practices for uniting the wine manufacturers from the region and BCCI’s participation in many international and regional organizations (BSEC, EUROCHAMBRES, ICC WCF, the Association of World Trade Centers, participation in the projects East Invest II, SEECP, the Danube Strategy, etc.).

The Romanian party expressed interest in the Unified Trade Register of BCCI, noting the Chamber’s accomplishment – its official accreditation by ICC WCF to issue Certificates of Origin and other foreign trade documents, and being among the first 11 chambers accredited worldwide.

The President of BCCI and the Ambassador of Romania expressed their satisfaction with the ever growing trade turnover between the two countries, the development of specific sectors such as the automotive industry which is characteristic to Romania, and the excellent bilateral relations, cooperation and mutual initiatives.
