BCCI issues force majeure certificates in connection with the blockade of the Bulgarian-Greek border

The Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry reminds the entrepreneurs that in connection with the blockade of the border crossings on the Bulgarian-Greek border, due to the strike actions of Greek farmers and the preventing of the passage of trucks, this is expected to cause problems between Bulgarian and/or foreign companies with their partners related to untimely (delayed) implementation of concluded foreign trade contracts.

According to the common international practice, in such cases the Bulgarian companies should turn to BCCI for issuing certificates attesting the occurred event which they would present to their partners for release of responsibility in case of delay in the implementation of these contracts. The Chamber issues such certificates, based on an official document issued by an independent body (ministry, local authorities and others) proving force majeure and the period/duration of the event.

By issuing force majeure certificates, the Chamber effectively helps traders and saves them the payment of penalties.

Force majeure certificates are issued by BCCI in Bulgarian or foreign language, depending on the customer's request.
