BCCI will have its representative in the Energy Board, the establishment of which was decided at a meeting of the Caretaker Cabinet on August, 27. Nikolay Minkov, Energy Advisor and Executive Director of “Srednogorie Med Industrial Cluster” will represent the interests of the Chambers’ member companies before the advisory body.
The new structure will be a standing consultative body with the government that will analyze the state of the energy sector in Bulgaria, identify the factors that prompt its instability, and determine the principles of its sustainable management.
The Energy Board will also propose measures for maintaining stability in the sector. The Caretaker Cabinet has made the creation of the Energy Board one of its top priorities when it assumed office earlier this month.
Caretaker Deputy Prime Minister in charge of economic policy Ekaterina Zaharieva will head the Energy Board. It will also include representatives from Bulgarian Energy Holding, State Energy and Water Regulatory Commission, large enterprises of the sector and of one representative from sectorial organisations, trade unions and employers’ organisations.
