Rustam Azhdar, Economic Counselor at the Embassy of Ukraine in Sofia, visited the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, at the end of his term. The President of BCCI Tsvetan Simeonov expressed gratitude for the successful and active cooperation and awarded him with a diploma. For five years of cooperation now, four bilateral economic forums were organized - in Plovdiv, Burgas, Varna and a virtual one in Sofia.
According to Azhdar, there is a huge potential for expanding the bilateral trade and the general economic cooperation. The trade volume was growing for the consecutive years 2019 and 2020, the expectations for the current year are even higher. In 2019, it amounted to 983.5 million USD. In the first half of 2020, despite the negative trend worldwide, the volume of trade with Ukraine was increased by almost 20%. Bilateral trade for last year reached $ 936.9 million.
BCCI expects to continue the good cooperation with the Embassy of Ukraine in Sofia, in order to expand the economic cooperation.
