Opportunities to expand the cooperation with Slovak companies

"The automotive industry, food industry and tourism are sectors with great potential for development of the bilateral economic cooperation between Bulgaria and Slovakia", said the Secretary General of BCCI Vasil Todorov during the opening of a business forum with Slovak companies held in Sofia. The event was organized by the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Trnava Regional Chamber - Slovakia and the Embassy of the Slovak Republic in Sofia, with the assistance of EEN at BCCI.

During the forum, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between Plovdiv Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Trnava Regional Chamber. The President of Plovdiv Chamber of Commerce Dobrina Prodanova confirmed the willingness of the companies in the region to expand their cooperation with Slovak partners.

Viktor Petrasovsky, Deputy Head of Mission of the Embassy of the Slovak Republic to Bulgaria, also welcomed the participants in the event. He made a presentation of the Slovak economy, highlighting the growth in bilateral trade, which has reached record values over the past two years. He also pointed out the basic commodities in the bilateral trade, including automobiles, automotive parts, IT products, etc. The automotive industry is a key sector for the Slovak economy - German, Korean, English, and French brands of automobiles are manufactured in the country.
