Together against climate change

The Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry joined the initiative of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) for responsible behaviour of the business against climate change. The signature of President Tsvetan Simeonov placed BCCI among 2100 chambers of commerce worldwide supporting the noble cause. The very act of signing was carried out in the presence of the Presidents of the regional chambers of commerce and industry and representatives of the branch organizations at BCCI.

In June this year, ICC launched a campaign to engage the chambers of commerce and industry worldwide in support of the Paris Agreement’s overarching objective of “holding the increase in the global average temperature to well below 2°C”.

Climate action is everyone’s business, and this initiative, called the Chambers Climate Coalition, is ready to take bold action.

By joining the initiative, BCCI is committed, together with 2100 chambers of commerce and industry around the world:

  • To advocate for climate action within their business networks and for well-conceived policies to limit the global average temperature rise to 1.5°C.

  • To support the goal of achieving net-zero emissions globally by 2050.

  • To mainstream climate mitigation and resilience guidance into chamber services.

  • To work with public and private entities to support effective climate solutions as part of a transformational change that works for people and planet.

  • To reduce the greenhouse footprint from chamber activities without delay.
