Registration of Trade Representation Offices of foreign entities at BCCI

Pursuant to Art. 24, para 1 of the Investment Promotion Act, registration in the Trade Register of the BCCI is compulsory for the Trade Representation Offices of foreign entities. The Resolution for registration of the Trade Representation Office issued by BCCI has a constitutive character. After the registration at BCCI, the Trade Representation Offices obtain a BULSTAT code from the Registry Agency.

The Trade Representation Office of a legal entity has the status of a non-juridical entity, not entitled to carry out any economic activities.

The database of the registered Trade Representation Offices is available at BCCI’s website - Bulgarian and English versions, with provided free access to the public information: https://newregister.bcci.bg/edipub/TradeReports.

For the purpose of its maintenance and updating, the Trade Representation Offices pay an annual fee and benefit an additional package of services intended for them: https://www.bcci.bg/pricelist_tr.htm#it2; https://www.bcci.bg/tradereg-repres-addserv-en.html.

On 23 April 2019 in State Gazette No. 34/2019, amendments and supplements to the Foreigners in the Republic of Bulgaria Act were promulgated, including in Art. 24, para 1, item 6 which concerns the obtaining of a long-term residence permit by foreigners, representatives of foreign companies which have registered Trade Representation Offices in the country. The amendments concern both the documents for primary registration of Trade Representation Offices of foreign entities at BCCI, pursuant to Art. 24, para 1 of the Investment Promotion Act, and/or the making of changes and updates in the registered circumstances, as well as the issuance of Certificates with data from the Trade Register of BCCI on the actual status of the Trade Representation Offices, especially when they apply for the issuance of Certificates pursuant to Art. 19, para 1 of the Regulations for the Application of the Foreigners in the Republic of Bulgaria Act.

With regard to this, by Resolution of the Executive Council of BCCI, amendments and supplements to the Regulations for Registration into the Unified Trade Register of BCCI were adopted.
