Bulgarian – Romanian forum with the participation of companies from Bucharest and Prahova

BCCI hosted a Bulgarian – Romanian Business Forum. In his opening speech the President of BCCI Tsvetan Simeonov noted the excellent cooperation with Romanian partners and the active role of the regional chambers in Ruse, Dobrich, Razgrad and Silistra in this regard. He emphasized the fruitful collaboration with the Embassy of Romania in Sofia and with the joint Bulgarian – Romanian chambers.

H.E. Anton Pacuretu, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Romania in Sofia welcomed the participants in the forum and said that a positive trend in the development of the bilateral Bulgarian – Romanian economic relations has been witnessed. The Operational Programme for Cross-Border Cooperation Bulgaria – Romania presented another opportunity for cooperation.

Aurelian Gogulescu, President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Prahova reviewed the business climate and investment opportunities in Prahova. Mihai Andritoiu, Vice-President of Bucharest Chamber of Commerce and Industry provided general data about bilateral trade between Bulgaria and Romania and accented on the strengths of potential business partners from Bucharest.

Bronislav Denev, Head of the Economic and Trade Section of Bulgaria in Bucharest said that this was the first joint presentation of the two chambers in Bulgaria and that he hoped that during the programming period 2014 – 2020 new opportunities would be available to set up a sound and working Bulgarian – Romanian Strategy which would bring success to both economies. The implementation of mutual projects would create new opportunities to sell mutual products in third countries.

After the official part of the forum, Bulgarian companies had the opportunity to meet Romanian partners.
