“The EU-BALKAN SUMMIT: Paving the way to recovery and growth” is being held in Sofia


Prime Ministers and Ministers of the Balkan countries, representatives of the European Commission, heads of financial institutions and organisations gathered in Sofia to participate in the Conference “THE EU-BALKAN SUMMIT: Paving the way to recovery and growth" on 17th and 18th October at the Sheraton Sofia Hotel Balkan in Sofia.

The Forum was organized by “The Economist” and the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) is among the supporting organisations.

Main topics of the conference are the challenges and the business opportunities in the region, such as the future Greek presidency in EU; Bulgaria and Romania in EU – the EU`s membership impact and will the young and educated people stay in the country; European strategy for expansion of the Western Balkans: Croatia – the new EU member; financial services during crisis; projects in energy and liberalization of the sector, development for infrastructure, tourism, real estate, IT and telecommunications.

Among the representatives of the Chamber taking part in the Forum is BCCI’s President Tsvetan Simeonov with a report entitled: “Government in dialog with business”.

The Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry is participating in the Forum with an information stand as well.
